This is the second chant I wrote, which was around 1982, and is the oldest one that I still chant. It was therefore also one of the first few chants that I did with the Kirtan Wallahs did when we first started in 2004. This recording was made at our 8th anniversary kirtan celebration and was the first part of a medley (which is why it ends with the esraj playing improvisationally, rather than one or two slow rounds of the first section of the chant as we typically do). The middle of the three melodic sections has a real soaring feel.
